Flower of the Day: March 2, 2013
I was happy with my old iPhone 4, until it mysteriously forgot how to focus – and my favorite feature on it was the camera! (The one I needed most was the maps.) I’ve upgraded to the iPhone 5 now, and – wow!
As for the maps, I’m getting used to the new Google Maps for iPhone, but it’s a data hog. That may be a problem.

Luna Rossa
I ended up at the America’s Cup race kinda by accident the other day, and happened to get out to the end of the pier at Fort Mason just as Luna Rossa was… doing whatever it was doing. My daughter is a longtime fan of Prada, so I took pictures for her.
These were taken with my iPhone, no zoom or crop. In other words: this boat got a lot closer than I expected.
No one watching was sure whether they had meant to cut it this close. I made a remark about Italian drivers. I think I’m allowed to have an opinion on that, but someone who heard me called me racist. <eye roll>
